Large Turnout for Business Roundtable With Latvian Prime Minister Mr. Arturs Krisjanis Karins
Over sixty five businesspeople and diplomats attended the business roundtable with Latvian Prime Minister Mr. Arturs Krisjanis Karins on July 11th, 2019. The event was organized by the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), the European-American Chamber of Commerce in the United States, and the Consulate of Latvia in New York and was hosted by the European Union Delegation to the United Nations. In his remarks, Mr. Karins emphasized that his government was undertaking important reforms in the banking sector, regional administration and education that would make Latvia even more attractive to foreign investors. The Prime Minister added levity to his presentation with judicious humor, much to the delight of the audience. A lively question-and-answer session followed with emphasis on investment, the security situation and the status of the Russian minority.
