Round-Table Discussion With Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania
On June 25th, 2019 the Consulate General of Lithuania in New York hosted an informal round-table discussion with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, Mr. Giedrius Surplys, and his delegation.
The government delegation and Lithuanian private sector companies in the food and beverages sector came to New York to visit the Summer Fancy Food Show, the largest specialty food industry event in North America.
During the evening, the participants discussed how to help Lithuanian food industry companies enter the U.S. market and what it takes to achieve growth overseas. The participants also had an active dialogue about the strengths of the Lithuanian food industry and about other areas that need more attention.
In addition to Mr. Giedrius Surplys, a talk was also given by the president of Fancy Food Show, Mr. Phil Kafarakis, who discussed the history of the event and shared Fancy Food Show future goals.
The round-table discussions were moderated by Baltic American Chamber of Commerce member Michael Breen, President and CEO at TBC International.
