Joint BACC-EACC Breakfast Briefing by the Foreign Minister of Lithuania
Just two weeks into its membership of the European American Chambers of Commerce in the United States, Inc. (EACC), the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC) organized a breakfast briefing by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Mr. Linas Linkevicius on the Trade and Investment Climate in Lithuania. The event took place May 18, 2018 and was hosted by the Lithuanian Consulate General and attracted 25 participants: BACC and EACC members, including the new head of the EACC, Ms. Gemma Cortijo, diplomats, and people interested in pursuing business and investment ties with Lithuania.
Minister Linkevicius stressed that "The Baltic American Chamber of Commerce’s work is important because it helps attract American investment in Lithuania.” BACC Head Ms. Inga Klimasauskiene noted that, the "BACC activity is not limited only to promoting the Baltic States as a great investment but, also helping the Baltics companies to enter and grow in the U.S. market.”
BACC Board Member Viktor Sidabras added that by making the Baltic Chamber a regional effort, the Baltic States "hoped to get more bang for their buck." A lively Bill Mortimer, Partner at Acustack and BACC Board Member and Philip Berkowitz, Shareholder at Littler Mendelson, followed the Minister's remarks, with the focus being on how to better help Lithuania's entrepreneurs, how to better publicize Lithuania and its business success stories, and how to better introduce Lithuania's entrepreneurs to business opportunities in the U.S.
